Develop an online retrieval system for a complex set of financial
information. Collect and convert financial information from
a highly varied set of paper and electronic forms into a structured
XML data set to feed into a yet to be developed sophisticated
search system. Ensure the highest levels of integrity in the
financial data. Create the search system, interface, and underlying
mark-up, to allow for information, range and relationship searching.
By creating modules for the overall project, it was possible
to develop criteria based on desired uses and assign due dates
to the individual modules in order to move the entire project
forward without waiting for linear development. Design specs
were developed for each module and then tested against expectations
as they were being built. Key conversion was provided. Process
engineering created a flow for the entire system and built in
QA. Extensive testing throughout development and post release
continued, allowing for modifications and improvements.
A new, and ongoing, data collection feeds a robust financial
online system. The entire system saves time, effort and money
while delivering the highest quality of data in a user friendly
yet sophisticated online environment. The underlying database
and the user interface work together to maximize usability.
