Summary of duties: Develop specification for highly complex software programming applications and modify/maintain the exiting software. Develop, modify, and maintain applications that may be customized or standardized. Participate in design and coding activities with other staff members.
Education and Experience: Masters of Science in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology or equivalent on-the-job experience is preferred. Minimum two years experience as Software Engineer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required -
1. Experience with Visual Basic .net
2. Knowledge of at least one of the major database systems (ex: SQL Server, ORACLE, etc.)
3. Knowledge of systems architectures such as client/server and distributed processing
4. Knowledge relating to the area in which analysis and coding is performed
5. Strong problem solving, judgment, interpersonal skills, adaptability and teamwork/cooperation skills
6. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical staff members.
Desired -
1. Experience/knowledge of : XSLT, CSS, XML DOM, DTD, Schema, parsing, XML and data structures required
2. Experience with developing components (DLL’s)
3. Experience with any server side technology (ASP.net preferred)
4. Ability to interface well with non-technical members of the organization.
